About Canadian University Dubai
The Canadian University Dubai, popularly known as CUD, is a private university of higher education in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, founded in 2006. The Canadian University Dubai offers education based on the Canadian curriculum. The university was originally known as Centennial University of Dubai. This title was changed to Canadian University Dubai once it became an independent Canadian institution. The university maintains its ties with the original Ontario-based university, offering students transfer programs after their second year.
The university offers four faculties, Architecture and Interior Design, Communication Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Applied Sciences and Technology, and Management for interested candidates.

Canadian University Dubai Scholarship| Funding:
50% tuition waiver: High school students need to have attained an academic average of 99%* or above to apply for a 50% tuition waiver. For current CUD students renewing their scholarship, the semester CGPA at the conclusion of the semester must be 3.98 or higher to continue receiving a 50% tuition waiver.
40% tuition waiver: High school students need to have attained an academic average of between 95 – 98.9%* to apply for a 40% tuition waiver. For current CUD students renewing their scholarship, the semester CGPA at the conclusion of the semester must be between 3.95 – 3.97 to continue receiving a 40% tuition waiver.
30% tuition waiver: High school students need to have attained an academic average of between 90 – 94.9%* to apply for a 30% tuition waiver. For current CUD students renewing their scholarship, the semester CGPA at the conclusion of the semester must be between 3.9 – 3.94 to continue receiving a 30% tuition waiver.
20% tuition waiver: High school students need to have attained an academic average of between 85 – 89.9%* to apply for a 20% tuition waiver. For current CUD students renewing their scholarship, the semester CGPA at the conclusion of the semester must be between 3.85 – 3.89 to continue receiving a 20% tuition waiver.
10% tuition waiver (returning students only): High school students who were granted an automatic 20% tuition waiver for their first semester at CUD and have maintained a 3.8 – 3.84 CGPA, may be eligible for a 10% tuition waiver for the subsequent semester.

Student Success Centre at CUD
The purpose of the Student Success Center (SSC) is to guide and support you through your personal and academic journey at CUD. Visit the SSC to learn how to manage your time and stress, develop optimal note-taking strategies, understand assignments, improve your math skills, or enhance your English, reading, writing, grammar, and research skills.
Workshops that promote personal development and academic success are offered throughout the semester or upon request. These range from improving study skills, academic writing skills, and exam taking skills to building higher levels of confidence and reaching your academic goals.
The SSC is a place where you can receive personal and academic support, attend valuable workshops, work on your assignments, find resources, and prepare for exams. Graduation Policy
Application for Graduation
Before completing an application for Graduation students must complete the following steps:
•Students are required to review their academic record against academic requirements for graduation.
•Review current academic progression and grades with their academic advisor.
•Each student must ensure that he/she is in good financial standing with the University and that all fees and financial obligations have beenmet.
•Complete an Application for Graduation Form, which is available on the Student E-portal or from the Office of the Registrar, and submit it to the Office of the Registrar, together with the applicable fee, during Graduation fairs. These are held each spring semester of the academic year of Graduation.
•Once an application for graduation has been completed and filed the Office of the Registrar will begin to process all the necessary information for final certification in preparation for graduation.
•Only students who have successfully completed the degree requirements and have no holds by the end of the semester that they have applied to graduate are certified for the conferral of the respective degree.
•Degrees are only granted at the completion of the semester in which requirements have been met. Conferral of the degree and the date of graduation are noted on the permanent records of the graduate held by the University.
•Only one certificate will be issued for Canadian University Dubai graduates that have completed a program with a dual major concentration. The process of issuing certificates for dual major concentration requires handover of the initial certificate that has been issued by Canadian University Dubai. The new certificate with the dual major concentration replaces any previous certificate issued by Canadian University Dubai.
•Students’ certificates will be ready within 2 months after passing the last course of the program.
Canadian University Dubai Partnerships to fund low-income students
CUD has partnerships that allow low-income students to have financing in their academic programs and thus get more people to access higher education, in this case Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank which have worked jointly with the university to offer facilities so that low-income students can study at CUD.

GEMS Education, Canadian University Dubai Announce Scholarships Worth Dh10 Million


GEMS Education and Canadian University Dubai have announced a partnership that will offer scholarships exclusively to GEMS students. The value of the scholarships is AED10 million.
Starting this academic year 2018-2019, Canadian University Dubai will offer a series of scholarships exclusively for GEMS students. Scholarship amounts will vary depending on course of study and the academic merit of GEMS students.
GEMS students who study at Canadian University Dubai will be able to study both at the Dubai and Canadian campuses. Choosing to study in Canada will offer a unique career boost for students, as the country offers a path to citizenship once an international student earns a post-secondary degree from a Canadian university.
GEMS announced the launch of the UniConnect programme last year. The programme is set to include a series of strategic partnerships designed to provide scholarships and financial aid to GEMS students seeking admission at universities within the region and across the globe.
This first partnership with Canadian University Dubai also provides for dedicated career training for GEMS students.

When I came to Canadian University Dubai I was awarded a sports scholarship and I enjoy the challenge of combining academic life with my participation in the university basketball team. I chose to study network engineering because I wanted to learn the advanced technical skills to help me develop as a tech-entrepreneur.

CUD students can earn industry-recognized certifications at no additional cost during their final year of study
UAE, Dubai – 10 August 2022: Coursera, Inc. The collaboration will equip the university’s students with the necessary skills for in-demand jobs through Career Academy from Coursera, a new career training academy that provides skills training and entry-level Professional Certificates from the world’s leading companies including Google, IBM, and Meta.

Learners enrolled in Career Academy from Coursera will be able to earn entry-level Professional Certificates from industry leaders including Google, IBM, and Meta, to prepare for 18 in-demand careers such as Data Analyst, UX Designer, Application Developer, and Social Media Marketer, among others. Participants have the flexibility to learn at their own pace, fully online across the web and mobile, and can also explore different career paths with an overview of common job titles, skill requirements, and salary insights.
